Course Information: Designed by renowned British architect, Donald Steel and opened in 2000, The Aquidneck Club is a links style golf course overlooking Narragansett Bay. The Club is member owned and currently has a full, very supportive membership. The greens are USGA spec, predominantly L93 creeping bentgrass while the tees and fairways are a poa annua, colonial bentgrass mix. Roughs are unirrigated and composed of fine fescue and colonial bentgrass. We strive to provide tournament conditions on a daily basis.

The Club is installing a new pump station this season and plans have been made to install a new, Rainbird Irrigation System in 2024. Tanto Irrigation has been contracted to perform the work. Beyond that a bunker renovation with revetted faces and Better Billy Bunker liners is in the early planning stages. Additionally, a new fleet of Toro maintenance equipment has been ordered for the 2023 season.

Job Description: The 2nd Assistant will participate in all aspects of golf course maintenance. A priority will be placed on daily greens prep, course set up and project participation. Candidates must be self-motivated and willing to work successfully in a team environment.

Qualifications: Candidates should be hard working, enthusiastic, team players with a passion for working outside. Golf course experience is preferred but we will train the right individual. Ability to obtain a RI pesticide applicators license. The Club is looking for individuals interested in advancing in the turf industry. Opportunity for promotion from within the company is likely for successful team members.

Compensation: $23/hr with weekend overtime during the growing season. Holiday bonus. Health insurance, matching IRA after one year, 2 weeks paid vacation, 9 paid holidays (holiday hours can be accrued for use at a later time) and 5 sick days.
