Casey Farm is an historic and USDA-Certified Organic farm located in Saunderstown, RI. We have 8 acres in fruit and vegetable production for a weekly farmer’s market and a 180 member CSA.
- Seasonal Farm Hands, Part-time
- Start immediately! Flexible schedules up to 30 hrs./week through Oct 31, 2026 (potential work through December)
- No experience necessary/training provided.
- Involved in many aspects of fieldwork from preparing fields and transplanting to weeding and harvesting, as well as preparing produce for CSA pickup and weekly farmer’s market set-up and breakdown. Farm hands may be involved in some aspects of animal care for chickens, pigs, turkeys, ducks, goats, and rabbits raised for Casey Farm educational programs.
- Hourly wages start at $17.00 paid bi-weekly plus a partial CSA share.
- CSA Share Pickup Attendant
- Up to 20 hrs./week (Tuesdays and Fridays ~11:00 AM – 8:00 PM) starting early June through October.
- No experience necessary/training provided.
- Responsible for washing/displaying produce for CSA pickup, as well as being available during pickup to answer questions, facilitate the pickup process and re-stock as needed, and closing up the farm at the end of pickup.
- Hourly wage is $18.25 paid biweekly.
- CSA Work Share
- No experience necessary/training provided.
- Work shares commit to working one 4 hour shift each week throughout the 20 week season (mid-June-Oct) in exchange for a full CSA share of vegetables every week ($860 value)
- Work Share positions are physically demanding and include working alongside farm hands in the field performing tasks such as planting, weeding, harvesting, and preparing produce for CSA pickup and weekly farmer’s market. May require walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, lifting, attention to detail, etc.
- Available Shifts: Tuesday or Friday mornings (7:00 AM – 11:00 AM) to help with harvest, as well as Saturday field crew (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM). Working the same day each week of the 20-week season is required (with exceptions for time off planned in advance).
Qualifications for all positions:
- Punctual.
- Reliable.
- Able to take direction and work independently as well as in team setting.
- Able and willing to work full shifts of physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions.
- Ability to stay focused on a task and pay attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to and interested in working efficiently and quickly.
- Weekend hours are required for Farm Hand and some Work Share positions.
