Clean food scraps for composting or livestock feed

Bootstrap Compost is a food scrap hauler serving all of RI and MA. We’re seeking partnerships with farmers/ranchers who have a use for food scraps, whether for making compost, feeding animals, or both. Food scraps from our residential clients tend to be pretty clean. Compostable BioBags are intermingled with the food scraps, but they break down readily in a hot compost pile. We pay sites that accept food scraps, so if this is a resource you’re interested, please reach out and let’s chat. My name’s Nat, I’m the Operations Manager for Bootstrap in RI. Hi Nat!

I would be interested in food scraps if possible! I currently have 42 chickens on my property in Foster. I’ve also been working with Molly Allard at NRCS in the hopes of receiving a grant for a high tunnel.

I’d love to hear more.

Heather, that’s great! This farm in VT is a great example of integrating composting with chickens. Let’s connect: Give me a call anytime or shoot me an email. My contact info is in the original post.
