Driver/Distribution Assistant (Part-Time; Year Round)

Load and operate a 26’ refrigerated truck and assist branch representatives with food distribution at five YMCA branches throughout the Southcoast. Support Full Plate Project Distribution Manager with program needs. 15-25 hours/week. Hours are variable and scheduled in advance. Some evening and Saturday hours may be required. $18-$20/hour depending on experience.

Duties:

Safely operate a 26’ refrigerated truck, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
Load and organize inventory from distribution center following organizational procedures and deliver goods to market sites.
Follow all company and state safety requirements for loading and unloading goods.
Ensure products and market supplies are secure and delivered in a timely manner.
Follow scheduled route for deliveries.
Assist Y branch representatives with distribution process.
Maintain and organize delivery paperwork and supplies.
Update Board of Health refrigeration log.
Manage collection and reporting of data.
Collect program supplies at end of market and return to distribution center.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to safely operate a 26’ truck.
  • CDL license required.
  • Clean driving record with no moving violations.
  • Must Pass a DOT physical.
  • Experience using hand trucks and pallet jacks.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for several hours.
