ASSISTANT GROWER
(20 HRS/WEEK)
Endless Farm is a no-till, certified organic, & certified real organic vegetable farm in Johnston, RI. We grow on a half acre and run a small CSA and sell to local grocers & restaurants. We are seeking a half-time Field Assistant (20 hours/week, Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays or Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Aug - Dec 15th,2022). Compensation is $15/hr plus veggies.
Responsibilities:

Harvesting, washing, and packing vegetable orders

Transplanting, seeding, weeding, watering

Maintaining clean and tidy workspaces, following food safe practices in the washroom

Bed-building, mulching, setting up irrigation line, trellising, pruning, maintaining caterpillar tunnels

Occasional weekend watering if schedule permits
Our ideal candidate is dependable, efficient, positive, and pays attention to detail. Must be able to work independently and with coworkers. Must have a reliable form of transportation to the farm in Johnston, RI. Must be able to lift 40 lbs, work in all weather conditions, and occasionally do repetitive work.
Previous experience with commercial vegetable production is preferred but we are willing to train the right person! Opportunity for growth into a year-round and full-time position for the right person.
Hours are 8 am – 2:30pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, though the schedule is somewhat flexible depending on needs. Workdays include a 30 minute unpaid lunch break.
