Endless Farm is hiring! We are a certified organic no-till farm on a half acre at Snake Den Farm in Johnston, RI with a small CSA & wholesale sales.
Field Assistant
We are looking for a part-time Field Assistant (12 hours/week, Wednesdays & Thursdays, May 2021- January 2022). Hours can be two 4 hour days or two 6 hour days – see below for details. Compensation is $15/hr plus veggies.
Responsibilities:
- Harvesting, washing, and packing vegetable orders
- Transplanting, seeding, weeding, watering
- Maintaining clean and tidy workspaces
- Depending on time and interest: Bed-building, mulching, setting up irrigation line, trellising, pruning, building caterpillar tunnels
- Occasional weekend watering if schedule permits
Our ideal candidate is dependable, efficient, positive, and pays attention to detail. Must be able to work independently and with coworkers. Must have a reliable form of transportation to the farm in Johnston, RI. Must be able to lift 40 lbs, work in all weather conditions, and occasionally do repetitive work. Previous experience with vegetable production is preferred but willing to train the right person. Opportunity for year-round and full-time position for the right person.
The 12 hours/week are somewhat flexible – two 6 hour days/week or three 4 hour days/week possible. Hours are 8 am-2:30 pm Wednesday/Thursday or 8 am – 12:30 pm Wednesday/Thursday plus one additional weekday. Workdays include 30 minute unpaid lunch break.
