Farm employee support system

SEMAP is assisting in a farmworker-led initiative to build a farm employee support system, which will include resource-sharing, a social platform, meet-ups, and more! They’ll address challenges like health insurance, retirement saving, state assistance programs, and other barriers facing farmworkers that can prevent them from continuing to work in the field. Hopeful that building this program will not only uplift hardworking farm crew, but it will also improve labor recruitment and retention in the region, so please share this information far and wide!

This is being championed by Lauren and Stacy at Heart Beets Farm in Berkley, and they’d love to hear from farmworkers across Southeastern Massachusetts and Northern Rhode Island. Please connect with Lauren in the following ways:

  • Email: [email protected]
  • Call or text: (508) 496-8748
  • Discord: reach out in one of the above ways to join the shared Discord space

PLUS: Don’t forget! Farmworkers who worked at any point during the federal COVID disaster declaration (January 27, 2020 – May 11, 2023) may be eligible for a relief payment of $600. Learn more and apply at farmworkers.com
