The Southern Rhode Island Conservation District (SRICD) is sponsoring a free “Farm Tour and Sheep Shearing Day” at Terranova Farm Livestock Sanctuary located at 113 Fenner Hill Road in Hope Valley, RI. The event will be held on Thursday, May 22 starting at 11 am.
Farm owners Ashlee and Stanton Terranova and farm manager Jamie Flynn will wrangle their seventeen sheep followed by a shearing demonstration by professional shearer Aaron Loux.
Jamie will then demonstrate corrective hoof trimming and discuss the importance of hoof care. The day will end with a tour of the farm and a chance to meet the farm’s rescue animals and interact with the baby and adult goats. Parking is limited and no dogs are allowed during the event.
