Hi folks -
We are hiring a lead person to represent our farm at the Farm Fresh Winter Farmers’ Market in Providence, RI. Possibility for this to be a year-round position, and/or become full time with additional work at the farm for the right candidate.
Responsibilities include:
-Load farm vehicle at the farm in Raynham, MA at 5:30am and drive to the market in Providence on Saturdays
-Help set up display
-Interact with customers in a positive way and hype our farm products - regenerative, organic meat, produce, and grains.
-Help break down market stall, load and drive back to the farm. Typically arrive back at the farm around 2pm.
Qualifications:
-Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
-Comfortable driving vans and box trucks in the city
-Familiarity with farmers markets and local food
-Ability to work a 10 hour shift and lift 40lbs
-Some retail experience preferred
-Experience cooking food from farmers markets preferred (#1 question at markets is “how do I cook this?”)
Compensation:
-$20/hr plus commission worth an additional $8-10/hr on average
-Some farm produce
-Discount on other farm products
