NOFA RI is looking for an “On Farm Workshop Coordinator”

Work from home and remote. The Workshop Coordinator organizes and oversees the master schedule for all the presentation sponsored by the Northeast Organic Farmers Association of Rhode Island. The Coordinator contacts potential farm presenters, builds relationships with, and schedules speakers for “On Farm Workshops.”
Stipend $1200 for Organizing 8 On Farm Workshops. Does not include travel.

Job Responsibilities:
Oversee the “On Farm Workshop” master schedule
Creates and works closely with the NOFA RI Board and others in finding 8 presenters
The Coordinator contacts past speakers for possible future involvement
The Coordinator finds new prospects for forthcoming workshops
Collects and organizes data and biographical information for each presenter/speaker:
The information must be completed at least 4 weeks prior to event
Manage and collect workshop evaluation forms; report results
Coordinate publicity and notification of Workshops
Attend monthly committee meetings

Qualifications
Experience reaching out to people and building relationships, ability to invite people to speak
Connected to the farming or food community in Rhode Island
Knowledge of potential speakers
Experience in working with volunteers
Organization, attention to detail, and project management skills
Proficient in basic computer applications: word processing, spreadsheets, internet, and email, some graphics experience preferred
Demonstrated capability to effectively communicate orally and in writing in a timely manner
Ability to work well with a diverse group of staff and volunteers
Ability to fulfill commitment for scheduling and attending 8 “On Farm Workshops” in RI
Valid Driver’s license
Outreach and Organizing experience
