:herb:Job Summary:
The Community Engagement Coordinator (The Coordinator) supports What Cheer Flower Farm (WCFF) by recruiting and overseeing the Farm and Floristry volunteers who are an integral part of our
mission. These volunteers assist What Cheer Farm to grow and give away flowers to our network of
partner organizations, which include hospitals, hospices, food pantries, senior services, and more. Part
of the tasks of The Coordinator will be to cultivate and nurture our relationship to these critical partner
organizations and help us to extend our reach into the community. The Community Engagement Coordinator works as part of a collaborative, responsive, all-hands-on-deck team with the The Farmer Florist Manager, The Seasonal Farmer, Junior Farmer, Floral Delivery Coordinator, and other Farm staff. The coordinator reports directly to the Farmer Florist Manager with support from the Executive Director and other staff.

:tulip: Responsibilities:
:black_small_square: Build and maintain relationships and trust with program volunteers and partner organizations.
:black_small_square: Communicate with all departments of the organization to identify available opportunities and need for volunteers.
:black_small_square: Source and recruit volunteers to fit roles using a variety of outreach techniques and resources.
:black_small_square: Source and recruit partner organizations that represent The Farm’s vision and goals.
:black_small_square: Set up automated systems to gather information about volunteer skills, availability, and goals;
match volunteers with appropriate opportunities based on this data.
:black_small_square: Create systems to gather information about partner organizations’ needs, their delivery systems,
and other information which will support organizational missions for both The Farm and our
Partners.
:black_small_square: Schedule, coordinate, and assign volunteers to ensure placement is a good fit for individuals’
skills and goals. Also schedule and coordinate deliveries with and to partner organizations in
collaboration with The Farm delivery team.
:black_small_square: Maintain files, records, applications, and other data concerning the volunteer and partner
programs.
:black_small_square: Draft, maintain, and publish guidelines, best practices, and procedures for the volunteer and
partner programs.
:black_small_square: Coordinate volunteer and partner recognition and appreciation events and activities.
:black_small_square: Work collaboratively as part of the What Cheer Farm team to support volunteers’ successful
engagement with The Farm programs and partners.
:black_small_square: Perform other duties as required.

:blossom: Qualifications:
:black_small_square: High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree preferred.
:black_small_square: At least 2-3 years of demonstrated administrative experience, work with volunteers, and/or
building relationships with community-based organizations.
:black_small_square: Excellent written and verbal communication skills including email, phone, and in person. Cell
phone communication will be expected.
:black_small_square: The ability and enthusiasm to work with people of varied cultures, abilities, and lifestyles, while
also sharing knowledge with a positive and compassionate attitude.
:black_small_square: A desire to learn and be curious about partner organizations and those who are volunteering or
visiting The Farm.
:black_small_square: Excellent time management, organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
:black_small_square: Ability to build trusting relationships with program volunteers and partner organizations.
:black_small_square: Ability to work creatively and collaboratively as part of a team, as well as independently.
:black_small_square: The personal temperament to be patient, a good listener, and tolerant while maintaining
appropriate boundaries.
:black_small_square: Knowledge of and experience with computers, internet research, Google docs and sheets, the
Microsoft suite of tools, and a willingness to learn new programs such as Airtable.
:black_small_square: A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation is required.
:black_small_square: Bilingual English-Spanish (preferred but not required)
:black_small_square: Flexibility, such to work during weekday(s) and on Saturdays (preferred)

:black_small_square: Ability to travel to site visits.
:black_small_square: Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
:black_small_square: Prolonged sitting at a desk and working at a computer.

:black_small_square: This is a part-time (20 hours) at-will salaried position with professional development opportunities
and training. Salary range: $21,000.00 to $26,000.00, commensurate with experience.
:black_small_square: This position has potential to grow to a full time with the right candidate.
