Black Dirt Farm is a diversified family farm in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. We collect food scraps from our community for feeding hens, make compost and worm castings with the excess food and manure, and use them to nourish our soils and crops. Our farm is firmly based in regenerative agricultural practices and the creation of sustainable food systems.
We are seeking a Farm Manager to help facilitate the successful daily operations of the farm with strong leadership, clear communication, organization, and a desire for excellence. The Farm Manager coordinates the individual members of the crew and the farm’s various operations to ensure that farm goals are met and the operation is efficient while producing exceptional products and services. The Farm Manager is charged with overseeing the crew and their task execution, as well as being a part of the operational team, helping to carry out routine tasks and projects. This person is also involved with budgeting and budget management, project and contractor coordination, and regulatory compliance.
