Matunuck Vegetable Farm – South Kingstown, RI, owned and operated by Matunuck Oyster Bar, is hiring seasonal Farm Crew member to join our team. This is an opportunity to work on a beautiful waterfront farm growing for the Matunuck Oyster Bar and Matunuck Atelier while gaining hands-on experience in organically certified vegetable production.
Position Overview
Farm Crew members are involved in all aspects of daily farm operations, including planting, cultivating, harvesting, and post-harvest handling of produce. Work takes place in both field and greenhouse settings, with a focus on efficiency, teamwork, and maintaining high-quality standards.
Responsibilities
Seed sowing, transplanting, assisting with cover cropping and seasonal farm tasks
Weeding, cultivating, and general crop maintenance
Irrigation setup and watering
Harvesting and washing produce
Greenhouse maintenance
Qualifications
- Ability to regularly show up on time is a must, strong work ethic with stamina, reliability
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and ability to stay focused on tasks
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Appreciation for practical, efficient work—and a sense of humor
- Ability to lift at least 35 lbs.
Position Details
- Morning to mid-afternoon shifts typical
- $17.00-$18.00/Hour. DOE. 20-25 hours/week. May—November
- No experience necessary, this is a unique learning opportunity for someone interested in local vegetable production
