Program Manager- RI Agricultural Mediation Program (RIAMP)

Are you passionate about helping farmers? Are you looking for a part-time position that will connect you with people who are doing amazing work? The Center for Mediation and Collaboration RI (CMCRI) is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic farm advocate to be the Program Manager for the RI Agricultural Mediation Program (RIAMP)! This person will work to share information about the RIAMP program throughout the state- to farmers on land and sea. Specific tasks include speaking to groups of farmers and farm advocates about the program, visiting farms throughout the state, marketing the RIAMP program, developing strong relationships and partnerships.

CMCRI administers the RIAMP through the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Mediation Program. This program provides alternative dispute resolution through mediation to agricultural producers, their lenders and others directly affected by the actions of certain USDA agencies. Farming is hard and sometimes there are conflict that arise- property disputes, vendor or credit issues, succession planning and many other disagreements. The RIAMP offers free mediation to help resolve these issues before they spiral. This saves time, money and many times- relationships.
