Seeking a Loving Home for The Little Prince
My heart is heavy as I write this, but I know it’s the right thing to do. I need to find a kind and safe home for my beloved rooster, The Little Prince.
He is one of our four cherished chickens and has lived peacefully with our small flock for years. But something about this spring—maybe the shifting energies, maybe the call of the underdog rising—changed things. Yesterday, The Little Prince and our other rooster, Chicken Joe Jr., had a fierce fight. I thank the Goddess I was looking out the kitchen window when it started. I ran outside like a storm, fearing the worst, but thankfully, everyone is okay.
The Little Prince has always been the quiet one, the patient one. He has lived in the shadow of Chicken Joe Jr., never challenging his place—until now. Something in him finally said, “No more.” And while I admire his spirit, it has disrupted the harmony of our little flock. I moved him to the greenhouse to keep the peace, but we don’t have the means to keep them separated long-term, nor are we looking to expand our flock.
This sweet boy has never been aggressive toward humans—he was so gentle with me even after all the chaos. He deserves a home where he can thrive, where he won’t end up in a pot but instead be cherished for the unique little soul that he is.
The Little Prince is a bantam mutt, hatched here by our dear Little Mama. If you or someone you know can offer him a safe place to call home, please reach out. call/text me at 401-644-7253.
With gratitude,
Katherine
