Scratch Farm is a two acre chemical-free market garden in Cranston, RI, since 2005. We’re looking for full and part time workers to join our field crew April/May-October/November. You’ll participate in all aspects of vegetable production for our 100 member CSA and restaurant sales. Experience a plus, not required.
Pay is $12-$14/hr plus veggies, depending on experience, skills and availability/reliability. We work weekdays 9-5 with ½ hour paid lunch for those working full days. We cover-crop, mulch, save some seed, till minimally, work hard and efficiently, share ideas, laugh and grow high quality stuff for our community.
An ideal candidate will work outside in any weather, lift 40 lbs, have an eye for detail, care about food, be on time. Several former employees have gone on to start/manage their own farms; I enjoy sharing our systems and what I’ve learned farming for 15 years as we work. Small crew, family feel.
